Andrew J. Yang is an American-Icelandic classical pianist and composer recognized for his dynamic, emotionally charged performances and a rapidly growing international career spanning North America, Europe, and Asia. Born and raised in California, Yang demonstrated prodigious musical talent early on, later refining his craft through formal studies at institutions including Northwestern University, the Mannes School of Music, and the USC Thornton School of Music. His playing has been praised for its wide expressive range, seamlessly moving from introspective delicacy to powerful, virtuosic intensity, earning him accolades at competitions such as the International FLAME Piano Competition in Paris and the Metropolitan International Piano Competition. Now based in Iceland, Yang serves as Artistic Director of the Westfjords International Piano Festival, where he curates performances that highlight both classical masterworks and contemporary compositions. In addition to his performance career, he is a dedicated educator, teaching at prominent music schools in Reykjavík and mentoring emerging pianists.
